Sitting, Rei pushes the tray into the center of the table and breathes in, enjoying the sweet, spicy scent of the cider and the delightfully aroma of freshly prepared chicken. It's so bad for them, but it's a wonderful taste all the same. Perfect for an evening like this.
"I believe so too. That cake looks wonderful," she says without a hint of a lie in her voice. It does look good, and she promised Yuri she'd say it was great either way. Even if she had a backup cake in the fridge. One she storebought.
"I spiced the cider myself, but the rest of it is all bought. I couldn't think of a more romantic drink that would pair well with the food. Pepsi doesn't feel like the proper thing for an evening with someone as special to me as you."
Taking up her own cup, she wraps her fingers around it, letting the warmth seep into them.
"I like seeing you smile. So why don't we make our first toast to that? To smiling together."
Rei can't not laugh at Yuri, just a little. She thought permission was implied in all of this from the get go. She absolutely can't help but smile and come in for another lingering kiss.
She's so cute, it's almost painful, but also very good at saying just the right thing at the right time. Breaking up tension with quips, while also being incredibly easy to read, it's so, so adorable and it amps up Rei's enthusiasm a good bit. Enthusiasm that she puts into reaching (with a little hesitation) around to run a hand along Yuri's backside, and letting the other roam up her side a bit.
"...Just so you know, I'm a little nervous about this, despite appearances. So...if you don't like something, say it? I don't really know my own boundaries yet, so this is all sort of touch and go."
