[ Is his simple reply. Even with his speed increased by his chakra the creature was still keeping up and with the way the water was shifting beneath his feet, it was making its way up. ]
Brace yourself. It's coming to the surface.
[ He warns her, his eyes shifting to the water making sure to time it just right so he jumps right when it breaches the surface. He doesn't have to wait long before the thing breaches the water and he jumps up meters into the air ready to execute his plan. With the momentum from his jump carrying them up Sai lets go of her from one side and brings up two fingers to activate his jutsu. He uses what little ink he managed to make to active his ink mist which creates an effective smoke screen made from ink which he uses to body flicker to the shoreline. One instant they're in the air about to get eaten by the giant monster and the next they're transported to the shoreline watching as the monster snaps at nothing but the remnants of his ink. ]
She realizes, in retrospect, she's never really gotten to see any of her ninja friends actually using their abilities in battle. lee, yes, to some extent, but that had been impressive in totally different ways (mostly in that Lee obviously didn't utilize chakra or anything).
But that was--] Wow.
[It's all she can think to say, dazed and stunned as she continues to sit on Sai's back, staring wide-eyed out at the ocean and the whale-creature.] That was-- How did-- [She starts and stops a couple questions before going quiet and taking a deep breath to calm her flustered mind. She knows, in general, what happened (if describing things as "weird ninja magic bullshit" counted as "knowing"), so she focuses her attention on the more unique part of this]
[ Sai watches the creature devour the remnants of his ink and frowns. Why would a whale attack like that? Was it because of VIVID or... something else? His thoughts revolve around this query when he hears the spoken question which effectively draws his mind back to the present matter at hand. ]
Ink infused with my chakra. [ He answers as he crouches down to let her get back on her feet. ]
[Yuri hums in acknowledgement, watching as the whale disappears beneath the wave. When Sai crouches down she's quick to get off of him, readjusting to make sure everything's still in place.]
Thank you. [She figures the 'for helping me and everything' can go unsaid, and she crosses her arms as she eyes the waves generated from the whale's splash as they break against the shore.] I suppose swimming away isn't an option anymore... [Not that it was ever seriously an option for her but whatever.
She turns to Sai and gives a little bow to be polite as she introduces herself.] I'm Kozukata Yuri, by the way.
